Enterprise-A (refit)

Newer Older

While I loathe Star Trek series, except few, well, exceptions like the 2009 movie, some designs used there are true classics. Enterprise-A in refit configuration, felt like it was worth a try. And surprisingly, what was supposed to be a fun 1-hour-max build evolved into a struggle to get any possible detail out of a ship which was purposedly left almost completely bare.

I tried to keep stickers to minimum, but the twin-line around the saucer section and name were simply mandatory.

Joris Blok, *ThǝPя☢*, and 157 other people added this photo to their favorites.

@ Peter: Planet Styrofoamrocks is my own nomenclature. I couldn't be arsed to look up the name of the planet in that episode, which was overall pretty awful.

Also, for further nerdiness, here's a fun article about the Refit: www.ex-astris-scientia.org/articles/constitution-refit.htm

Grand Admiral, you know so much about Star Trek. I'm stunned.

It's enough to make you suspect that I might live in my mom's basement.

The Constitution Refit is my favorite version of the Enterprise, so I get hyper extreme nerdy about it. :)

I do like this microscale version. Also interesting are the details you chose to include and how you included them at this scale.

Oh, whew. OK. I mean, I love styrofoam rocks as much as the next guy, but that would just be damn lazy of the writers to name a planet that.

Hey can I just say back when G4 was playing TOS I somehow got my wife to watch almost all of them with me, which is amazing in and of itself, but she also managed to pick up on the Kirk drop-kick and the fact that redshirts tend to die all on her own.

I thought that was quite impressive for a non-sci-fi type person.

Beautiful. Simply magnificent. I didn't think it could be done on this scale.
