Free from the exertions of early autumn this wild Sika stag takes a well earned rest in the sunshine on the far side of a farm field. A bit of a long shot (250+ft)but one I could not resist.
There were some cows in the field upon which the farmer had hung large clanking bells, presumably to scare off the deer but they were not bothering this fellow.
I think this may be the same stag I posted a while back when it was covered in flies. You can see a marked difference in the coat since then :0)
