A new foundation is being poured for the raised house that sits along the banks of the Ramapo River in Oakland NY. The house is still sitting on the supports seen in the previous photo as the foundation is built around it.
This is a flood zone, and every few years these houses go under at least two feet of water. During Hurricane Irene last year, the water was eight feet deep here.
