Chicago 1955 - Found Photo
Circa 1955 red frame Kodachrome slide.
A nostalgic look back at the Chicago River before many of the distinctive buildings that line the river were built. The bridges shown are as follows (starting from the lower left and working to the distance): North Dearborn St, North State St, North Walbash Ave, North Michigan Ave.
The distinctive Marina City, those twin round apartment buildings seen in many photos of Chicago's skyline, sit where that rail yard is on the left edge of the frame.
You can easily find several of the buildings in this photo in the modern skyline.
