The Essex Street station of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail in the Paulus Hook section of Jersey City NJ. The car is headed toward Bayonne, at the southern end of the line.
The two car trains operate about every 10 to 15 minutes.
Note the pole mounted "semaphore" type signal. They only display the angle, for proceed, and horizontal, for stop. They appear to be tied to traffic signals (and visa-versa) where the light rail crosses intersections and side streets.
