A tumbleweed (Russian thistle) lies lodged in Upper Antelope Canyon, in Antelope Canyon Navajo Tribal Park outside of Page, Arizona.

Thanks to Hollywood movies, many consider the tumbleweed to be an iconic symbol of the American West, but it's an exotic invader that was first identified in Australia in 1810 and was not introduced to the USA until it arrived with Russian immigrants in South Dakota around 1877.
