Sunset Full Moon Rise over Mono Lake

You can be out in the field for years and still find stunning events which make your jaw drop and elicit a chorus of "ohh" from the people joining you. Those events happen every day, you just have to arrange to be there to see and capture them.

Ansel Adams talked a lot about visualizing the results you want well before you trigger the shutter. I anticipated this shot weeks in advance, then invited the G+ community to join me on the Google+/Panoramio Eastern Sierra Photowalk. Over 30 people RSVP'd, and we met in groups of 5 to 25 at various points on the anticipated shooting schedule, posted to the +Eastern Sierra Nevada Workshops page on Google+.

To see more results from the photowalk participants, drop by Google+ and search for the #sullimammothwalk hash tag. If you missed this trip but might like to go on a future one to the area, follow the page for updates and announcements. For example, I'd like to schedule another trip to Bodie for night photography soon.
