Truly the worst airport, and as reported, bribery and theft is rampant! Be sure to have SEVERAL PEOPLE whom you know and trust to pick you up upon arrival in Manila because it is very dangerous as well!!!

Absolutely the worst airport I have ever been in. Have a good hotel pick you up if at all possible. They will get you out of there safely. Do not go out to the cabstand under any circumstances.

I have been there several times with no problems at all. You have to understand the culture there to recognize what is going on. If you know what you are doing and how to say NO, then you will not have any problems. The only difficulty is at immigrations...if you arrive late at night, you will have a very long wait to get through customs.

Philippines might build a much bigger modern international airport soon to isolate congestions and to serve much convenient to travelers, screened airport employees to eliminates brivery and airport paid escorts, as per advice dont give anything to airport employees such as inserting moneys in Passports as gift to them for us to modernise and to make our airport descent.

Strange. In all of times (MANY) that I have traveled to Manila (since 1987), I have never noticed the "bribery" or "theft" in the airport. Police are EVERYWHERE. Both INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the airport. Nor the bad bathrooms either. Simply went straight from the gate, through the terminal, past customs, got my luggage & then out to the local transportation. Never had any problems. I guess only those who RARELY travel to Manila "notice" these things. Remember. You never get to where you want to be if you always stop to notice the "trivial" things. Forget the "petty" stuff. You are there to ENJOY yourself (i.e., on VACATION).

I have been to manila airport a number of time some times on my own with no problems
as long as you go to the taxi desk and check the cost for a taxi to your hotel and only pay that you will be ok
I like that you can not leave the airport with your bags untill they are check with your baggage ticket
If you are leaving from here they have a V I P lounge that cost £8 were you get free food and drinks internet and good seat to sleep in if you wish too
