An Emerald Lake

One of the benefits of being a frequent traveler on cruise lines is that you can sign up for notification for last minute offers given only to past guests.....which we have done at all the major cruise lines.
About two weeks ago we got the deal of the year and hopped on the Sapphire Princess out of Anchorage, Alaska last week and cruised the Inner Passage.
In Skagway, Alaska we rented a car and drove 72 miles into Yukon Territory in Canada and enjoyed the magical scenery along the way, including this view of Emerald Lake. The water is actually the shade of green you see here - the mineral deposits in the lake give it the color that is so magical.
This is a one frame image that I shot in RAW format and then used Photomatix to bring out the nuances of color and light that were visible to the naked eye.
