and its full name is: Dolichoderus (Hypoclinea) ypsilon rufotibialis Clark, 1930 Clark, 1930 Clark, 1930
It was interesting watching these ants enlarging their hole. The hole was positioned at the base of the Restionaceae. Each ant would work in the hole and emerge with its mandibles full of sand which was carried to the end of the leaning stalks and deposited away from the hole.
According to ALA the normal range of these is along the South West Coastline.
