Mount Starr King Sun-rays
"SOmetimes I get to places just when God is ready to have somebody click the shutter" A quote from Ansel Adams which made little sense to me before i traversed the high country of Yosemite National Park and witnessed a sunrise from the subalpine peaks of Mount Starr King. watching the sun crest near the 9000 ft summit seemingly kissing the granite with warmth as light descends on the surrounding landscape bringing vibrant color throughout the Illouette ridge in the foreground. Originally my intentions were to catch sunrise from Glacier point , however, the rapidly changing twilight was beginning to dramatically color the sky. As i ascended Glacier point road, i came across a clearing just past Mono Meadow Campground offering a glorious view of the eastern domes of the high sierra on the horizon and surrounding subalpine terrain. I wasnt aware where the sun would rise but intuitions told me not to pass up this opportunity so i braved being eaten alive by mosquitos, perched along a cliff sitting around 7500ftASL composing shots as the light changed.
