Missing Mansion

    Newer Older

    New Orleans Square
    Disneyland, CA

No particular reason for me to post a Haunted Mansion shot today, although I guess it serves as a warning to catch it while you can. In less than a month the original version of the Haunted Mansion will disappear until 2013 so the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay can take hold.

I'm not a big fan of Tim Burton or the Nightmare Before Christmas but I do think the overlay is a fun change of pace… in very limited doses. I wish it lasted a few months instead of the nearly half a year it currently occupies the mansion. By 2013 I'll be dying for some original, pristine, superior Haunted Mansion goodness. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder...

I'm with you on the original-ness, HM is always one of my must do rides at DL simply because it's a walk on at night and a great ride with classic Imagineering! Beautiful shot!

Wonderful light. I just discovered the other day that it closes for the transition on the second day of my upcoming trip. Looks like I need to make sure I experience it as soon as I get in.

Wow the Disneyland mansion looks so much different than the WDW version. I am glad you posted this excellent shot!

agreed. its okay to alter for a short period..but making it last half a year, that's just a lame cost-cutting maneuver.

While I love the Nightmare Before Christmas version, nothing beats the original. Great shot!
