Superb Cicada Measurement
Found in South Texas. 31 mm long (not counting the wings which extended another 11 mm).
I think I got the ID right now. It looks a bit like the Dog-day Cicada (Tibicen canicularis) except that it is green. It had just molted and I have seen others that are brown but my guess now is they are different. They are the right size for the dog-day, but the sound doesn't match what I found online. It sounds more like the Giant Cicada (Chicharra Grande) but they are supposed to be over 60 mm and it is probably much louder.
