Rider before Parliment
The horseman is Francis II Rákóczi, a prince and leader in the Hungarian uprising against the Hapsburgs in 1703.
The Hungarian Parliment building is called the Országház, which translates to the House of the Country. It was inaugerated in 1896 as part of the 1000 year anniversary of the country. The architect Imre Steindl went blind during construction, so never saw the completed work.
