Me at McKenzie Pass
Me and Lava Rocks at McKenzie Pass in Oregon. It was very late afternoon, the sun was low, the road was narrow and winding, and I was REALLY tired - but I knew how much Stefan wanted to do this part of the ride. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't think I could have - but I'd love to do it in the morning when I'm fresh, so I could enjoy it more. We had tried to take the pass twice before over the years, but it was always closed with snow. Read the blog for our September 2012 trip. Or, see all photos from this trip. Why yes, those are my Irish Setter work boots, size 8 for men (extra wide) — these add at least 3/4 of an inch to my height. I couldn’t find any motorcycle boots that provided the height I needed, fit my feet properly, and that I felt were safe enough for riding – so glad to have found these work boots!
