Looking Into the Past: 8133 Main Street, Ellicott City, MD

The best part about the source image is the front quarter of the car. Alas, there was only an ugly white van today. If I ever make it back to Ellicott City, I'll try again.

Great as usual! I've noticed you use pretty large photographs. I will have to give that a shot as well. I've been using mostly postcard sized prints.

Yeah, I use 8x10 source imagery and a wide angle lens.

The size makes it hard to hold keep the print from blowing around in the wind, so be sure to bring some stiff cardboard you can tape the source image to so you have more stability.

Fantastic effort, the best one I've seen yet! :)

not a real critisism -- your photo set is really cool. Just a thought for you -- if you had gotten the van to pull forward into the frame it would have looked really cool too (probably too much trouble, I know).

I agree with you, I wish the driver of that van had been around. I will probably go back in the fall and retake this one for that reason, actually.

it might also help to mount your printed images on foam core....... key word might as I do like the curved ones that help show the edge of the photo

Don't you wish that van was pulled forward just a little into the old photo to the wheels line up? That would have been great. I love this.
