bottling sunlight

Prev Next

It has been a day. I finally got this craft project underway, and am feeling very accomplished. These are hanging from my orange tree, over the table on our back patio. I just need to acquire a bunch of tealights, and we'll be able to rock our patio after-dark, now.

Bigness is better.

On a more dismal note, my second SX-70 has called it quits on me today. I must have some questionable karma for this to happen twice, now. I am feeling quite disheartened about it. In fact, I am downright bummed out. Should I actually invest in a third, and hope this time will be different? Just bought a bunch of 600 film, too. I guess I just want some sort of guarantee of proper functionality, without having to pay a ridiculous price for it. Sigh. I guess I should have just picked up a medium format camera from the beginning.

This is going to be a wonderful light set, when finished this is calling for a night/day diptych. Sorry to hear about the sx-70.

Thank you all, so very much. I will have many more images of these lanterns in the future, you can be sure of it.

I'm over it. I accept the things I cannot change, bla bla bla. Based on what I am seeing, I can only assume it's officially and completely dead. I will only buy another if I can get a good deal. I think I am going to turn my sights to a Medium Format. I am excited to be finally shooting film again with my 35mm.

What an absolutely wondrous idea, Jas! These catch the setting sun so well, and will look beautiful come nighttime, too! I can't wait to see them when you actually get the tea-lights in them!

Also, I'm sorry to hear about your SX-70! I've always thought it was a beautiful looking camera, so at least you still have a nice looking paperweight, but it's upsetting that two have given up the ghost! One would think that such a beautiful device would be built to last forever!
