Holmbukttind ridge

After passing through a valley, then a glacial bowl and a coulouir, we reached the first broad, the narrow ridge leading to the mt. Holmbukttind summit.

Our trip to Lyngen in Troms resulted in a successfull attempt on Jiehkkevarri(1834m); the snow/ice covered mountain. The highest mountain in northern Norway! To reach the summit we had to cross the lower, but still very impressive Holmbukttind(1666m). We had a total climb of 2200m during the day. And some fantastic skiing on the return! Any backcountry skier/skimountaineer should try this summit if given the chance.
