Church of St. Nicholas, Feltwell
The village of Feltwell can be found in south west Norfolk. There are 2 Churches in this village, the large Church of St. Mary and this little, but very pretty Church which although declared redundant in the early 1970's, still occasionally holds Church services - as in today.... Whilst photographing the exterior of the Church, I was asked if I would like to attend the Service. (I didnt as I had the dog with me)
Possibly built in the 15th Century (the remains of the tower is the oldest part of the Church); it fell into decay in the 16th Century & was restored in 1834. The chancel was demolished in 1862 & the round tower collapsed in 1898 whilst it was being repaired.
It has been built using flint, freestone, carstone & red & yellow brick.
The next service at this Church will be a Christmas service in December.
