Arno, Ponte Vecchio & Corridoio Vasariano

Florence, February 2012

The corridor that Giorgio Vasari built in 1564 was a private passageway for the Medici, connecting the Palazzo Vecchio and Galleria degli Uffizi, Chiesa di Santa Felicità and the Palazzo Pitti, by way of the Ponte Vecchio. This photo shows the corridor where it leaves the Galleria degli Uffizi, crosses the Lungarno degli Archibusieri and runs atop the Ponte Vecchio.
