34: the hdc is my favorite stitch
When I first started teaching beginning crochet at Loopy I had this realization that the half double crochet is my most favorite stitch. It's still fairly dense like the single crochet, but you get a bit more height. And that moment where you pull 1 loop through 3 is always a little exciting. (Yes, I'm easily entertained.)
I'd had this bag in my queue for a while, so I figured I'd make a giant rectangle out of hdc, using a bunch of leftovers of worsted weight cotton blends. This was my teaching project for a few weeks. Folding and sewing the bag was really magical. Since all you really need for this pattern is a big rectangle of fabric (made any way you please) I'd really like to give it a try with other techniques!
