1961 Rolls Royce Phantom V
In regular use for state and official engagements from new until its replacement in 2002 (including The Queen's state visit to Russia in 1994), this Phantom is equipped with a removable rear roof section exposing a Perspex inner lining, giving onlookers a clear view of the Royal passengers. The chauffeur can affix or remove the roof-mounted Royal Arms and flagpole while on the move, and the Phantom had its bonnet shortened so it could be carried on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Rolls Royce's first V8 engine featured in the Phantom V, which enjoyed remarkably high sales of 832 in its nine-year production life.
To celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Cartier Style et Luxe displayed a superb collection of royal cars, an aircraft and some rather special toys.
