269 METHWOLD St George

St George at Methwold was built in the 13th century in the Decorated style but the nave was destroyed by fire in the 14th and the nave was rebuilt with the aisles, the tower was virtually unharmed by the fire and features, along with pinnacles, a wonderful narrow spire set on top of a nice octagonal corona making this one of Norfolk's finest Towers.

The church is nicely proportioned with the east window in the chancel still having its original tracery, the church had Perpendicular windows inserted most of the way round in the church in the 15th century, the same time as the unique corona.
