264 LUDHAM St Catherine's

Right in the middle of the Broads village of Ludham sits the very pleasant medium sized church of St Catherine, which had a lot of money spent on it in the 14th and 15th century's rebuilding what was a older and much smaller church, and the chancel sits where the older 11th century was placed.

The tower and chancel was built in the 1300's with the tall nave a century later, the low aisles make the clerestory look large and austere, and there is a magnificent east window in the chancel.

Inside there is a fine hammerbeam roof and a splendid rood screen constructed in 1493.
