266 HEMPNALL St Margaret

The Saxon origin of this church is evident in the long and short work on the west end of the nave, though the church had been rebuilt in the 1200's and 1300's, and the crenellated tower dates from then.

The church has north and south aisles, with the south one having a nice battlemented roofline, the chancel is very short and blends in to the aisles, it was rebuilt after a fire in the 17th century.
