Amongst the Leaves

Mommy's (the most influential transgender prisoner) korpi and friend checking out something on a handphone, while hiding themselves away amongst the pot plants. The friend, who I'd labelled 'Stern' in an earlier portrait, had found a means of survival by regularly attending the prison mosque. The difference between charity dished out at the mosque and that served up by the church seemed to me (and I might be wrong here) to be that at the mosque individual wealthy prisoners were largely responsible for helping poorer worshippers, whereas at the church, Christian charity groups from outside were responsible for the meals supplied a couple of times a week to those attending services.
