Slender loris, Loris tardigradus tardigradus, photo James Reardon

These little primates are wonders to behold, and this little fellow had been 'parked' by it's mum whist she went off foraging for frogs, geckos and invertebrates amongst the tangle of vines and creepers that create an understory maze in the lowland rainforests of Sri Lanka, or what's left of them anyway. i always feel a bit guilty about photographing these little guys at night as their irises are fully dilated for nightvision and then WHAMO 580ex makes you blind for the next ten minutes. I did try and bouch the flash away from the loris, but I doubt it was a plesant experience for it.
