Sorry Grace but I can;'t publish the location in case it gets vandalised - as is the case of many such locations in the UK :(
      Thank you very much.

Yeah, I understand..I don't live in the UK so I won't be seeing it anyway. You wouldn't find abandonment like this in America, unfortunately, which is what really excites me about it..we have our own abandonment..

You seem to have a lot of highly desirable industrial sites and a few nice theaters though. And this is probably the best example in the UK at the moment, as far as I'm concerned anyway. A lot of the unspoiled houses like this are over in continental Europe.

This looks remarkably similar to a fireplace I know of in an old house here in the states (St Louis, MO). That house was built in the 1880's but isn't abandoned.

This manor dates back a few centuries but most of the features have probably been updated several times since the original so it wouldn't surprise me if the date on the fireplace is similar.

Actually there is a lot of this particular streak of sadness here in the US, especially in areas of long-term economic depression. Detroit MI comes to mind - there are gorgeous old homes throughout Detroit that are in this state. Pity.
