Portland cycle chic?

No, this is not Lady Gaga.

Decent shot showing that bicyclists and streetcars run on the same streets. Notice the bike lane on the far side of the streetcar in the background of this photo.

Car 003 of the Portland Streetcar system.

      Did you ride the streetcar?

      Of course I did!
One of the cars (number 105) was even built here in Oregon. I think I saw it, but not sure if I took its picture.

Cyclelicious hasn't yet posted a photo of Lady Gaga riding a bicycle, but I think we will see one eventually.

how fast or slow was the street car?

    6. Steven Vance 79 months ago | reply

According to the Wikipedia article on the Portland Streetcar, it has a top speed of 30 MPH. I don't think it traveled any faster than 15 MPH, though. The streetcar, unlike many segments of the nearby light rail (and most light rail systems) does not have signal priority at intersections and must stop at all red lights like any other roadway user.

the gold line train near my apt

avarages 39 mile per hour (29 mins travels 19 miles) but the speed varies depending on if its running on grade, underground or in the middle of the freeway..... in parts is as slow as 25 miles per hour and that's very cery slow.
