Scars of life, Ethiopia

Scars from the whipping at the bull ceremony.

During the ceremony female relatives of the boy passing into manhood, beg to be whipped. The deeper the scars, the more love they show for their boy.

Hitchhiking in Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia, home to unique tribes of Africa. A true paradise for photography but also a hell since as soon as they see your camera they want money and pose. Also, its sad to see this place turning into a "humanitarian zoo". But with a smile and lots of patience I got some shots and a great adventure.
