Rothney Observatory Open House (Sept 17, 2011) #5
What a great night this was! — a very clear night with the Milky Way visible across the sky and about 250 people out to enjoy the stars and views through telescopes on a Saturday night.
This was the Open House, Sept 17, 2011 at the U of C's Rothney Observatory, with telescopes and experts supplied by the RAO and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Calgary Centre. People were able to take in views of Comet Garradd, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and lots of deep-sky objects from nebulas to galaxies. The northern summer Milky Way is in the sky behind the stargazers.
