Adelante April 2016 Reporting Trips
The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) selected 12 journalists from six countries as the first fellows for Adelante, the IWMF’s Latin America Reporting Initiative. A group of six women journalists will report on themes of economic development and the human impact of migration from the Mexico-U.S. border. Concurrently, six women journalists will cover stories about rural and economic development from Colombia. The trips run from April 1 through April 14, 2016.

All fellows will convene in Mexico City for a multi-day orientation and security training before departing for their respective reporting trips. While in country, fellows will have the opportunity to meet with local journalists, collaborate with international peers, and discover sites relevant to their reporting. These are the IWMF’s first Latin America reporting trips.
