Photovoice - images of inclusion
In spring 2019, people who live with addiction gathered in Victoria. They learned basic photography skills and asked, “What are compassionate images about the overdose crisis?”

These are their stories, told through the images they captured. These stories share the loneliness people feel when living with addiction. They describe the hard work of recovery, and the profound difference compassion can make in someone’s life.

The stories also respond to images used in the news about the overdose crisis. Images reinforce stigma about people who use drugs. They also shape reader’s ideas about overdose prevention and treatment.
