Little Bird and parent
This weekend, we were out in the garden when someone asked if we could look over a baby starling. We said yes, before we really thought about it and it was placed in our back garden. There are many cats around this area, often coming in our garden and sadly this little bird couldn't yet fly. Cheryl sat for 9 hours in the conservatory - scaring off the cats and keeping an eye on it. When the night came, it seemed to settle down under a bush and there was not much more we could do.
Sadly this morning I went out to find the little bird and it didn't survive the night - this morning I buried it under the tree that has all the feeders on it and constant flurry of bird activity. Very sad really, but there was not a lot more we could have done - I guess that's just how things go.
