Okay, so you TLDR and looked at the poll and thought "Oh, shut up. It raises awareness."
Yes. Of the poll. And magazine.
But there's one thing you may be overlooking...
It's really fucking obvious. Right on the top, can't miss it.
But all those of you clicking and posting and sharing, well, if you take a moment and look again, you'll realize how much of a clickbait wankfest ego-gladitorial sham this is.
It's a poll for dance groups... AND musicians.
Two different things.
Does the person who made this poll actually give a crap about either?
Sure, you dance to music, but you could say the same about fashion models and the clothing designers they wear... let's put both of those in a poll?
Sim designers and the landscape set creators they use... let's put both of those in a poll?
No. it's dumb.
And you know it.
It's been a while since I was everybody's bitch with a camera, going to show after show.
I've seen a lot. Not everything, but a lot.
Legend has it, GB started with dancers showing up and dancing in sync to music at musician shows.
So, there's the relationship there.
But that was a long time ago.
And the two branches of the tree have diverged a lot since then.
Two different things.
(Or... what if... oh my God... what if... I'm... WRONG???)
When it comes to musicians, there's a few examples I know of that cross over into dance in collaborative efforts, or multiple media art projects, doing both the dance and music.
The first is AleyKat, a musician who teamed up with Monarchs to produce full-sim dance experience shows. But I think Monarchs still did the sets and dances and outfits, and Aley did the music.
Then there's a dancer with Luxe who creates soundscapes over their poetry and dances over them. Bryn? Does she make the music herself, or just lay over the poetry?
Still, that's effort. But not quite a musician who produces their own music and then produces dance over it.
Is there such a person?
Yes. And if you come to Debauche's show today, you'll see who it is.
Are there more?
Maybe, but not enough for someone to conflate the two camps of artists and dump them into a single clickbait cynical poll.
Oh, and by the way... VOTE FOR MY CAT!
