Self Portrait: Ghostly
Another in the series on the journey to discover myself. This one started with a thought - If the Earth and the Solar System are 4.6 Billion years old then, from the perspective of the universe and the elements in it, those 75 odd years that you have are not even a blink - they're just plain insignificant. Those elements that were cooked and born in stars and that now comprise you have assemebled themselves into something that is conscious, which is something new in the universe and something that is ever fleeting. Soon our consciousness fades and those elements pass into other complexities on their journey to the ultimate unknown. A humbling thought. Such is the shit that I think about sometimes.
