The 2013 UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR13) is entitled “From Shared Risk to Shared Value: The Business Case for Disaster Risk Reduction”.

 

The report looks at the central role of the private sector in reducing escalating levels of disaster risk and how business is increasingly seeing disaster risk management as an opportunity rather than a cost.

 

GAR13 highlights how the transformation of the global economy over the last 40 years has led to rapid increases in disaster risk affecting businesses, communities and governments.
