Simple actions, multiple benefits.
Simple technologies can save lives and livelihoods. Tree
planting, whether it be coconuts or other deep
rooted species, has multiple benefits, such as
reducing damage associated with floods and high
winds. It can also help to restore ecological balance,
maintain biological diversity and stabilise soil. In
addition, many communities can derive income from
managing forests. Six year-old Van Lyna plants a
small tree on “Green Day” in Prey Veng province, in
south-east Cambodia.
