IDDR11 in Seychelles

11-year old Ian Dine explains the role played by schools and children in disaster reduction during the 2011 International Day for Disaster Reduction in Seychelles.

 

Some 80 plus countries commemorated the UN International Disaster Reduction Day (IDDR 11) on 13 October 2011.

 

“This welcome groundswell of support concretely demonstrates the growing importance and awareness of risk reduction around the world,” said UNISDR Chief Margareta Wahlström today.
