The dust cloud from a cache disposal explosion is dwarfed by the rugged mountains of Afghanistan.

Explosives and weapons from the cache finds were destroyed by Australian Army experts. Other evidence from the cache finds was transported back to Tarin Kot for further investigation.

A major cache find in the Baluchi Valley. A deliberate patrol with soldiers from the 4th Brigade, Afghan National Army and Mentoring Team Delta, Australian Mentoring Task Force - Two located two significant cache finds.

The first patrol located an IED making facility. The IED factory contained over 400kg of explosives with 20 IEDs ready for insurgent operations.

The following day the patrol recovered several weapons and other IED components.

"This will have a substantial effect on insurgent operations and Uruzgan is a safer place as a result," said Australian Army Mentor Team Leader Lieutenant Alex Davidson.
