Jacking the foundation

Soil conditions in the Northern Neck vary from loamy sand to heavy clay and older foundations in particular can experience settling and movement. To repair the problem, a proven technology is used by supporting the foundation on helical coils, driven deep in the ground. This pictures shows the top of the coil with the bolted footing being slowly jacked tightly into place. Regular repairs often involve installing two to four coils to support a section of the foundation, and later adjustments can be made.
