Upper Cathedral Valley monoliths

These sandstone monuments are in Capitol Reef National Park. As you can see by the long shadows, it is only about one hour from sunset. This is a remote area in the northern most region of the park that is only accessible with a four-wheel drive vehicle via primitive dirt roads and river crossings! I only saw three other vehicles on this trip. The monument on the right is about 400 feet (122 m.) high, and the small one in the middle is about 250 feet (76 m.) high. Tomorrow, I will show a new NightScape taken from this same position.
