Starry night canopy over Bryce Canyon
Milky Way star canopy over the narrow 'Wall Street' canyon in Bryce Canyon National Park. Light painting at night shows orange and red rock formations which rise about 700 feet above this popular hiking trail on the 'Navajo Loop'. I planned this shot for several days, so that the Milky Way would be visible in this part of the canyon, and align with the notch in the wall at this time of night. Note ''The Sentinel'' near the top right of the photo. This extremely wide angle photo, looking virtually straight up, was taken with an EF 15mm f2.8 Fisheye lens (180-degree view diagonally) on the full-frame Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Light painting for 6 seconds w/ 2-million candle power reflected halogen.
