Up and away
I am leaving for India tomorrow and will be there for the next three weeks. Our travel people got me some seriously convoluted ticket because it was $2,000 cheaper than more straightforward route. Raleigh-Washington-Amsterdam-Frankfurt-Delhi...four flights just to get there. And while in India, I have to travel to a dozen (!) different cities. My last year trip included 6 and it was crazy. Apparently not crazy enough. This year my Indian colleagues decided to double the number. If everything works out the way they plan, by the end of this trip my flight count will be up to 16 or so. And I'll be staying only one or two nights in any of the 12 hotels...talking about living out of a suitcase! I don't really know why I agree to these things...I have to have my head examined.
I thought this shot fits the occasion. It is from the archives and was taken with my old iPhone. I am planning to rely on iPhone a lot on this trip because now it has a much better camera. Even got a new case for it with integrated external battery, so I don't have to worry about running out of power. I will probably post occasionally, depending on my internet connection, and definitely try to check on your streams once in a while.
As before, here is a list of cities: six are the same as last year and the other six are Kanpur, Farrukhabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, Mathura, and Varanasi. I am kind of exited about Varanasi because it is so famous. I hope I have enough time there to walk around. I also hope I am still alive by the time we reach Varanasi - it is my last stop before returning to Delhi and flying back to US...straight to New York this time. I am still around today, but otherwise "see" you whenever I manage to get online next time! Be good. :-)
