Blackheath Housing, London

Architects: Chamberlin, Powell & Bon. 1960s. These Architects made their name by building Golden Lane and Barbican in the City of London.

The 'Tower Blocks' in social housing were encouraged to be built by increased subsidies, but in this instance the single block works well, set against large open space and surrounded by low housing. The calibre of Architects is evident throughout the design.
