After a long hot day
Taketomi Island, Okinawa, Japan
People on Taketomi Island still live in the beautiful traditional houses which haven't changed since the 17th century. All these house fences are made from coral, and these roads are made from coral sand so that residents are able to clearly see and avoid aggressive Habu pit vipers at night by moonlight.
Taketomi Island belongs to the Yaeyama Island group which boasts of paradisical beaches, untouched tropical rainforests, lush mangrove rivers and one of the world's largest healthy coral reef systems.
