Advance reservations are necessary to enter the Otani Art Museum Foundation, but one can enjoy a cup of tea in the first floor and visit the beautiful Kyu Furukawa Gardens. Meiji Period architect Josiah Conder designed the western-style house, which was built in 1917 for the Furukawa company. In 1982 the Tokyo Metropolitan government made the building a cultural asset. A famous Kyoto designer, Jihei Ogawa, is responsible for the Japanese-style garden. 1-27-39 Nishigahara Kita-ku.
