Baxter Society - slide presentation
Slides from my May 11, 2011 talk to the bibliographic "Baxter Society" in Portland, ME, titled "On Not Printing Books".

I was surprised when friend, and new president Scott Vile asked if I'd like to speak. When I said "I've never printed any books", Scott replied, "that's OK, you're a crazy printer". I couldn't argue.

What is offered are a few influences from the likes of Roger Dean, and the design collective Hipgnosis, to the general inspiration of album art and the multiplicity of graphic / artistic solutions.

What then follows is some of the work I've done for, and with, musicians and labels. Much is my original design, and other is collaborative.

The presentation is already out of date with new poster work recently designed and printed.
