MARCH HEADING. BY EDNA DAVIDSON, AGE 14. (SILVER BADGE.) Well, I cant describe the centennial any better than bysaying it was a great success. They had the WrightBrothers original heavier-than-air biplane, and then sideof it they had another, the most modern one, with all theimprovements. But I cant tell all that was there, forthey had models of all the monoplanes, biplanes, triplanes,and kites that have been invented during the past century.That night the warplanes flewaround about a half a mile abovethe earth and dropped confetti,and then huge search-lights fol-lowed the course of the paper tothe earth. After this there was a beautifuldisplay of fireworks. The next day we had to go,although Father did not have toget back for a week more; butMother wanted to tour around theCanadian Rockies and Alaskabefore we started for home.
