One of a series of four bronze street light statues on Kelvin Way Bridge Glasgow. This one is depicting "Philosophy & Inspiration"


The figure of a mature man dressed as a scholar contemplates the meaning of existence. On the other side of the central street light pillar section, a young woman musician gazes out in a trance, caught in a moment of inspiration.

In the background, Glasgow University Tower, atop Gilmore Hill.

The sculptor who produced the four street light statues was the Australian born, Paul Raphael Montford,


Kelvin Way Bridge was designed as Radnor Street Bridge, by City Engineer Alexander Beith McDonald in 1912
